I could probably have walked this faster, but the whole course is on the side of a hill.

As I said before, I really do not want to be fastest, just faster. I am coming in last now in my age group 40-44 and am getting very discoraged. I have been following the workout for intermediate training for a 5K in the sweat365 website. I stopped moving myself forward when I had a hard time finishing teh 30 minute tempo run. I dropped back down to the week with the 25 minute tempo run, which usually turns out to be way faster than I think I should be running, but still not good. I need to increase my VO (whatever that thing is). I run, bike, swim, walk…what else can I do? ANY suggestions?
If anyone has any suggestions for me at all, PLEASE feel free. I have not been getting better but slowly getting slower!
